How to Add a Family Member to YouTube TV

YouTube TV lets you share your subscription with your household through family sharing — no extra cost, with each person getting their own profile.

What Family Sharing Includes

• Up to 6 people total (you as the family manager, plus 5 invited members).
• Each member gets their own profile, recommendations, and DVR library — your viewing history isn’t shared with the group.
• Up to 3 simultaneous streams at once across the whole family group (a 4K Plus add-on can raise this to unlimited streams at home).
• Everyone must generally live in and periodically check in from the same home location to maintain access.

How to Add a Family Member

1. Sign in at tv.youtube.com or open the YouTube TV app.
2. Click your profile picture, then go to Settings > Family sharing.
3. Select Manage, then invite each family member individually.
4. They’ll receive an email invite and need to accept it while signed in to their own Google account.

Who Can Join

Family group members generally need to be 13 or older with their own Google account, and everyone needs to be part of the same household for streaming access to work reliably.

Things to Know Before Adding Someone

• Only 3 people can stream different content at the same time (without the 4K Plus add-on), so a large household watching simultaneously may hit that limit.
• Members outside your home location periodically may need to re-verify they’re part of the household to keep access.
• You can’t belong to more than one YouTube TV family group at a time.
