How to Combine YouTube Playlists

YouTube doesn’t have a one-click “merge playlists” button — to combine playlists, you add the videos from each source playlist into one new playlist manually. Here’s the actual process.

Step 1: Create the Combined Playlist

1. Go to any video, click Save below it.
2. Select Create new playlist, name it, and set its visibility.

Step 2: Add Videos From Each Source Playlist

1. Open the first playlist you want to combine.
2. Go through each video, click the Save (or three-dot menu) option, and add it to your new combined playlist.
3. Repeat for every video in each playlist you’re merging.

There’s no bulk “add all” button for someone else’s playlist, so this takes some manual effort for larger playlists — there isn’t currently a faster official shortcut.

On Mobile

1. Tap the Save icon under a video.
2. Select your combined playlist from the list, or create a new one.

Things to Watch For

• If the same video appears in multiple source playlists, it will only appear once in the combined playlist — duplicates aren’t added twice.
• Combining very large playlists (hundreds of videos) is genuinely tedious with no built-in shortcut, so consider whether you actually need one merged playlist or whether keeping them separate but browsing your channel’s Playlists tab works just as well.
