Removing a video from a YouTube playlist doesn’t delete the video itself — it just takes it out of that specific list. Here’s the direct way to do it.
How to Remove a Video From a Playlist
- Open the playlist (from your Library or the channel’s Playlists tab).
- Find the video you want removed and click the three-dot menu next to it.
- Select Remove from this playlist.
The video disappears from that playlist immediately, but it remains on YouTube and in any other playlists it’s part of — removing it from one playlist doesn’t affect its visibility anywhere else.
On Mobile
- Open the playlist in the YouTube app.
- Tap the three-dot menu next to the video.
- Select Remove from playlist.
If You Want to Delete the Video Entirely
Removing from a playlist is different from deleting the video itself. If it’s your own upload and you want it gone from YouTube completely, go to YouTube Studio > Content, find the video, and delete it there — that removes it everywhere, not just from one playlist.
